Merry Christmas 2016

Be Encouraged – December 2016

My heart is so full with the love, glory and excitement of the season we are in!  This is the season we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Christ, our Messiah, the anointed one!

I love the Christmas season, during this time there is so much activity going on all around us.  Everywhere we go we see the Christmas decorations and lights, we hear the Christmas music and singing and we smell and taste of all the seasonal foods!  Many get so wrapped up in all of the activities associated with the season that the reason for the season becomes lost and sometimes even forgotten!!

One scripture I have been reading and meditating on a lot lately is Luke 1:37-38.  The angel of the Lord is speaking to Mary and says, “For with God nothing will be impossible. Then Mary said Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word, and the angel departed from her.”

I love this encounter Mary had with the angel and her response. Think about what the angel was revealing to Mary.  Her response again was, “Let it be unto me according to your word!!”  Wow, how different our lives would be if we would totally submit to the Lord as we walk through life in faith.  Our obedience is the response of our faith to any instruction, direction or guidance from God!  I encourage you during this season of celebrating Christ’s birth to meditate on this scripture.  Live your life in an attitude of submission, submit your plans and your future to God’s plan for your future.  For Jesus taught that true faith will always be manifested in obedience to God’s revealed will.  His will is revealed in His Word!!  So, as you live and walk by faith and in submission to our Father and His plans remember,  “… with God nothing will be impossible.”

The Gift.  We celebrate The Gift of Christ Jesus, so freely given to us by our Father God, the gift of love. the gift of kingdom and eternal life!  May the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus, be your encouragement as you celebrate His life and walk in His love.

May your Christmas season be blessed and full of His love and glory!!
