It is hard not to think about being thankful this time of year especially since we are in the season of Thanksgiving. Of course, we are to express our thankfulness each day, all year! But, my awareness of being thankful seems to be heightened with everything that is going on in this world, as I am sure yours is also.
As I was reading the scriptures on giving thanks or being thankful many thoughts began moving through my mind. Thoughts of how God’s goodness and faithfulness have been demonstrated throughout my life. I give God praise and am very thankful for His hand on my life and for the many times He has rescued and blessed me. I am thankful for His love which fills me completely and how He has totally transformed me into His light! I am thankful for His presence in me and on me and how it flows out from me. I am thankful for my friends that have touched my life and mine theirs as we share the love of God with each other. I am thankful for my husband and family, for my children and grandchildren ~ blessed, blessed, blessed! Yes, I am very thankful that God loves me with His everlasting love!!
I encourage you to take some time and be still before Him and reflect on His goodness and mercy on your life and as you do ~ give Him praise!!
Psalm 136, reminds us of some of the many reasons why we should be thankful ~ for, His mercy, goodness and faithfulness endures forever! There are many other scriptures that speak of His goodness and mercy and everlasting love for you. I encourage you to read and meditate on them again and praise Him for all of His marvelous works in your life!!
“I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” Psalm 9:1-2
