Be Encouraged ~ September 2014

Greetings and love to you in Christ Jesus! The word I have been meditating on for this season is taken from Psalm 27.  I encourage you to let this Word work in your life for it is truly alive, creative and powerful!!

Psalm 27: 4

“One thing I have desired of the Lord. That will I seek:  That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life; to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple.”

God called King David a man after His (God’s) own heart. Act 13:22 David loved God; and he wanted to not only know of Him but his desire was to experience Him in all the fullness he could.  When reading the Psalms of David, many times we see that he entered into God’s presence and fullness with such awe, delight and joy!

We can too, but the difference between David and you and I, is that we carry God’s presence with us all of the time!!  Selah!!  God is in us and we are in Him. We are the temple of Holy Spirit and He talks to us and we can talk to Him anytime we want and as much as we want. What a wonderful time to be alive!!

However, sometimes I think about how complacent the church is today about this very fact, yes?  Think about your life, how often do you set aside a dedicated time to spend with your heavenly Father, to seek His face and behold His beauty?  Or sing praises to Him and worship Him in your secret place, or just sit before Him; listening and receiving wisdom and guidance from Him? I encourage you to purpose to make any changes in your life as Holy Spirit nudges you to! Because in doing so, you will know that the Lord God is faithful, He is your protector and your strength. That is the good news! Look to God and put your faith in Him remembering with all the troubles in this world we can trust Him and not be afraid! Selah!!

Verse: 13-14

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

David’s faith in God, His faithfulness, His goodness, His deliverance and His love for him gave him the strength to keep going. He didn’t give up even though he may have wanted to at times. He remembered his encounters and experiences with his heavenly Father, his friend and that encouraged him to stand strong.

We don’t give up either, because we know that each day of our lives, Christ in us gives us strength and courage.  His love strengthens our hearts as we wait on Him for our deliverance, provision, healing, protection! Yes- wait on HIM for your every need!

This Psalm so encourages us to seek Daddy’s face and deepen our relationship. Not only will we be full of joy and peace as we do but we will be able to stand strong! David didn’t give up because he knew that God’s goodness was for his now, in his present circumstances!  You can too!!

Remember “now faith is the substance of things hoped; the evidence of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:1

Move forward in God’s faith and boldness in knowing who you are and whose you are!!
